Add support for real time communication.
Is firebase an option here? Check the Firebase plugin for NativeScript - https://firebase.googleblog.com/2016/01/getting-started-with-nativescript-and_53.html
WebRTC is about video and audio conferencing, desktop sharing and the like. It is a standardized protocol for peer-to-peer communication as well as server-supported many-to-many communication (with a little help of other protocols). It is also supported by most modern browsers as well as Android and iOS.
Firebase, afaik, has some support for WebRTC. But you shouldn't have to use Firebase when you want to use WebRTC on NativeScript.
I am trying to migrate my app from Ionic to Nativescript. Webrtc is one of the core technology used in my app. Surprisingly nativescript doesnt support webrtc out-of-the-box. Ionic and React-native already have support to webrtc. So it is reasonable expectation from Nativescript.
Yes please WebRTC is getting verry popular, it will be more than awesome if NativeScript, implement it too, this is one feature that prevents many peoples from jumping to nativescript
Any update on this one?
There is already https://github.com/TeamMaestro/nativescript-opentok available as sdk of paid service but I was exploring free lightweight alternative to it host on my own. Shortlisted Janus, Jitsi or Kurento.
What are your preferences ?
